A summer of intergenerational activities based on nature, play and shared culture.

This summer, the Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia (FCAYC), proposes a varied programme of activities for children and families, which invites them to learn and enjoy the environment through art, games and the encounter between generations.

The proposals are primarily designed to children, but from an inclusive perspective, which encourages them to come accompanied by their trusted adults. The project is aimed at mothers, fathers, grandfathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, neighbours or anyone who is part of their daily lives. A new proposal that delves into education through coexistence and intergenerational participation.

This new proposal aims to open up avenues of research linked to the project. third master through a simple question: can we learn from our surroundings?

Programming to explore, create and share

The calendar of activities includes workshops and events where the environment, natural elements and collective knowledge become tools for play and learning. Some of the highlights include:

“earth - water. Seed”.” (15-18 July): an intergenerational workshop that invites you to work with mud and local soil, to imagine landscapes and to talk about seeds and cultivation from direct experience.

“heaven - earth. From micro to macro”.” (29 July): a workshop connecting microscopic structures of stellar origin with astronomical phenomena, exploring their link between the Earth and the Universe through scientific and telescopic observations.

“sky - eye. A look at the cosmos to understand the earth”.” (31 July): one more year we gather in this popular night meeting dedicated to astronomical observation in which the clear sky of Cerezales becomes a classroom to discover exoplanets, eclipses and stories of the universe.

“Orienteering race”.” (2 August) Orienteering race rogaine type from 6 years old through the streets of Cerezales del Condado. Ideal for beginners, with maps and marked markers.

“Seed - game. Sprout.” (7-14 August) An inhabited scenography proposed by the Createctura collective, inspired by natural growth, encourages wonder and exploration so that new ideas and ways of imagining can flourish. A space that will remain open in the afternoons that invites children and adults to play freely, reconnecting with creativity and enjoying the process together.

“play - seed. Play the tree”.” (11-14 August) Lucía Fincias, green pedagogue, proposes a workshop for children where creativity and imagination will help us to explore and transform natural elements to be part of our play. An experience at the service of children's autonomy, confidence and learning from their playful instinct.

“seed - common - feast. At the break of dawn”.” (18 - 22 August) An early festival in which wheat is our teacher. For five days at FCAYC we will harvest together, recovering traditional trades and celebrating shared learning with the land.

“seed - yeast - fire. Ancient wheat and bread”.” This workshop, guided by Triticatum, explores ancient wheat. We will mill and knead different varieties in the FCAYC garden, connecting with their flavours and knowledge through handmade bread.

In addition, during the month of August, a new edition of Tropos will be held, with concerts for all audiences as well as circus and puppet shows. Two activities stand out:

“Excuse me if I introduce myself as not knowing you.” (1 August) A proposal by La Pequeña Victoria Zen and Miguel Barreto that explores identity through circus and dance. With a visual language charged with symmetry, ambiguity and emotion, it invites the audience to reflect on who we are and how we relate to others.

“Nil” (22 August)  This a proposal by the artist Minusmal, is a scenic metaphor about the challenge of facing oneself, symbolised by a box that cannot be opened.

With puppets, electronic devices and gestural language, he creates a poetic and visual journey full of detail and emotion.

Each collaboration is in keeping with the spirit of the Foundation: to open up spaces where knowledge, creativity and daily life meet, while respecting the environment and the rhythm of people.

A summer woven together: partners and networks

This summer's programme is made possible thanks to the collaboration of national professionals and groups who share with FCAYC a sensitive approach to education, territory and community culture.

Among the collaborators are artists, mediators, educators, researchers and associations that accompany each activity with their own experience and methodologies. Participants Createctura, experts in the creation of play installations; Lucia Fincias as an expert in green pedagogies; scientific disseminators such as José Vicente Casado and Ana María Ordoñez Lanza, or local associations such as the ALCON Sports Club or the Néxodos Collective.
