From 16:30 to 19:00
Aimed at adults
With Manuel Antonio González, Anxo Fernández Villalobos and Carlos de Hita
Within the “Birds” cycle, this summer workshop will begin with a general introduction to the world of ornithology, with the aim of identifying the most common bird species present in Cerezales and its surroundings. It will be completed with an introduction to the world of bird songs, a fundamental tool for identifying birds in woodland environments, where it is more difficult to spot them visually.
In the final session, we'll have the collaboration of Carlos de Hita, with whom we'll take a sonic journey through the vocal variety of birds, from the simplest calls to the most elaborate songs, with some keys to identifying them based on timbre, phrasing, rhythm, and sound shape. We will also analyse the use of sonograms.
The aim of the course is to understand the current situation of bird populations living in the Cerezales area and to train attendees in detecting potential year-on-year fluctuations by conducting simple population censuses, with a special focus on identifying bird songs.
