Castorina. Autorretrato/ selfportrait is a selection of works by the artist Castorina Fe Francisco Diego.
Drawings, texts, sculptures, video and photography are the materials of the exhibition, which is composed of 46 pieces.
A creative and updated selfportrait that looks for the company and complicity that is only possible inside a private space. We can notice those experiences related to family, maternity, life and death, and women’s importance, omnipresence, and worry about the different kinds of violence against them.
Since its opening, the Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia, has one of her seminal works, Maternity (1995). For that purpose, Tadanori Yamaguchi was in charge of the transformation of one the works made by Castorina into a bigger piece. After that, the Fundación has sensed the need of compiling for the layperson an exhibition of the artist’s most personal and unknown works.
Under this premises, we present now: Castorina. Autorretrato/Selfportrait.
