Departure from the Foundation
We will learn to distinguish stars, planets, shooting stars, artificial satellites, aeroplanes... We will point out with a laser in the sky the different constellations that can be easily seen in the summer skies and we will learn about their mythological origin. Given the dates of the observation, we will be able to see some shooting stars (Perseids). If you have a telescope and want to learn how to use it, sign up for the workshop on the 8th.
Guided activity by José Vicente Casado and Ana Mª Ordoñez Lanza.
José Vicente Casado has been involved in geology, palaeontology and astronomy since he was a child. He has recovered thousands of fossils and minerals, and has made an inventory of all the points of mineralogical and palaeontological interest in the province of León. He has participated in the development of contents for various science museums in Europe, the United States and Japan.
Ana Mª Ordóñez Lanza has been a fan of finding and collecting minerals, fossils and meteorites together with José Vicente Casado for years. She discovers astronomy through him and collaborates in his outreach projects. She uses the telescope as an instrument for observing various objects in the sky.
