In the early 1990s, Christopher McCandless abandons his city life, changes his name to Alexander Supertramp, sells all his possessions and donates his savings to Alaska, where he hopes to encounter true nature and the truth of his existence.

Based on Jon Krakauer's best-selling book about the diary notes Christopher wrote during his travels.

The film is developed with flashbacks (jumps to the past that visually remind us of some moments of the protagonist's existence) and flashforwards (a narrative line similar to the flashback but referring to the future) that are interspersed throughout the film, thus offering us more details about Christopher McCandless' life.
The film's setting, made in real exteriors that take us all over Alaska, and its excellent soundtrack, composed almost entirely by Eddie Vedder, the leader of Pearl Jam, stand out.
