Memories of Africa is inspired by the life and work of the Danish author Isak Dinesen, the pseudonym under which the Baroness, Karen Blixen-Flecke, hides.
Karen Blixen travels to Kenya with her husband to run a coffee plantation. She soon falls in love with the land that welcomes her, taking refuge there from her failed marriage. In addition, another man begins to occupy her heart: the adventurer Denys Finch Hatton.
Winner of 7 Oscars, including Best Film, and winner of numerous awards throughout Europe.
David Watking's beautiful photography, with its emphasis on the Kenyan landscape, and the soundtrack by composer John Barry stand out. We cannot forget the performance of the actress Meryl Streep and her relationship with the character played by Robert Redford.
