Talk entitled: «Laura Gibson and the Portland music scene; music partnership as a solution to the music industry crisis«.

In it, Laura will unpack the basics that make up her compositions, a marriage between poetic Blues, vintage Americana and Folk dusty, a recipe in which we can find the close links between the with the likes of Meric Long and Logan Kroeber (The Dodos), Nate Query and Jenny Conlee (The Decemberists), Jilly Coykendall, Rachel Blumberg and Matt Berger (Blumberger).

The career of this American is not exactly short and the critics are not at all unfavourable. Now more than ever you have the perfect opportunity to do so, to enter her world, following the release of her latest album, entitled nothing more and nothing less: La Grande. Her voice and her talent are powerful. The artist herself has expressed her satisfaction with her work in La Grande She has even stated that it is one of the best she has done so far, and no wonder, because for this adventure she has been surrounded by great collaborators who have put their grain of sand in this album, which she will present as part of the Cartofonías cycle, and members of The Dodos, The Decemberists and Calexico have helped to make this work precisely that, big and brilliant.

Laura Gibson's music could be described as folk, but it's much more than that. Laura Gibson's work transcends styles, because she likes to experiment, Laura has something of Beach House or FleetFoxes folk and even something of Feist, usually occupies a prominent place in these stories so appropriate for a forest bonfire as the album cover suggests, so close in animal and nocturnal metaphors to the universe of Joanna Newsom. Here, however, they are presented in a much simpler way.

Laura Gibson is very particular in herself. She is elegant, sophisticated, but at the same time sweet, natural, spontaneous. Simple. Like something out of the purest nature.

So close your eyes, let yourselves be enveloped by his voice and let yourself be swept away by his magic...
