Title of the conference: «Citizens» laboratories and the commons»
Within the framework of Herbarium, Antonio Lafuente will talk about the colonial expansion of science and the relationship between science and its publics and profane knowledge. His intervention links the publication of the book «Las dos orillas de la ciencia» (2012) on the emergence of modern scientific practices in the Spanish colonies, with citizen laboratories and the commons in the contemporary world.
Antonio Lafuente, researcher at the Centro de Ciencias Humanas y Sociales (CSIC) in the area of science studies. Since 2003, he has directed the Laboratorio del procomún at MediaLab-Prado in Madrid.
