Past event

On 25 and 26 September, together with the Sierra Pambley Foundation, Donostia/San Sebastián European Capital of Culture 2016 and the Mintzola Fundazioa, we are organising a meeting of improvised singing in which improvisers from the Canary Islands, Galicia and the Basque Country will take part.

The events, which will take place between the headquarters of the Cerezales Foundation and the Sierra Pambley Foundation, will represent a new activation of our project for the public. Territorio Archivo. (More information about Territorio Archivo).

At the same time, it is the first touch of the EUROPA BAT-BATEAN (Suddenly Europe) project, which aims to raise awareness of different manifestations of sung improvisation and which will be held in Donostia/San Sebastián, from 9 to 16 July 2016, taking advantage of the European Capital of Culture.

This is not the first time that Territorio Archivo has been activated by means of oral reprehensions: during the activations linked to the Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez, We have already had the opportunity to see the images of the archive commented on by a Basque bertsolari and two troubadours from the Alpujarra.

On this occasion, we will be joined by seers from the Canary Islands, regueifeiros Gallegos and the bertsolaris Ane Labaka and Maialen Lujanbio, National Champion in 2009 of the Bertsolari Txapelketa Nagusia and current runner-up since 2013. They will improvise verses based on the photographs provided to Territorio Archivo by the residents of the León villages of Cerezales del Condado, Castro del Condado, Ambasaguas de Curueño, Devesa de Curueño, Barrio de Nuestra Señora, Barrillos de Curueño and Lugán.
