Guided tours of our facilities to learn about the architecture and equipment of FCAYC, as well as its uses and relevance in the development of our programmes.
The FCAYC facility is designed by architects Alejandro Zaera Polo and Maider Llaguno. It is a building that is part of a research project on universally recognisable architectural archetypes, in this case those that shape architecture in rural areas, and follows geometric and constructive criteria of traditional local - and global - architecture, such as the gabled roof, the wooden framework seen on the façade, wood as cladding, etc. At the same time, it allows the distribution of the different uses associated with FCAYC, until the moment of its opening fitted in the only floor of the old schools of Cerezales del Condado, in 5 contiguous warehouses with a longitudinal development North-South, and vertical in the two existing floors in three of the warehouses. The equipment includes a free-standing building, located in a plot to the south of the main block and adjacent to it, dedicated to the educational programme on the cultural landscape that FCAYC deploys.
The building of the new FCAYC headquarters was conceived from a comprehensive sustainability perspective, to minimise its environmental impact throughout the building's life cycle.
