This is the first year that the Cerezales Antonino y Cinia Foundation participates in the International Museum Day, The new facilities will be visited by Rául Alsonso Estébanez on Thursday, 18 May, with two special visits.
For 40 years, this date, which has become much more than just a day, has been an occasion for discovery and greater visibility of museums around the world. The theme proposed by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) for this year's celebration is «Museums and Controversial Histories: Telling the Unspeakable in Museums».
Based on the proposed theme, the Cerezales Antonino y Cinia Foundation proposes two guided tours for groups with the architect specialised in bioclimatic architecture, bioconstruction and social and sustainable construction, Raúl Alonso Estébanez. They will be based on learning about the ecological and social footprint of buildings and highlighting the different types of constructions that are currently being built.
The visits will include access to all areas and internal elements of the new FCAYC facilities, which have been awarded as the most sustainable facility in Spain (2015-2016) in the Sustainable Construction Awards of Castilla y León.
They are aimed at all audiences and those interested should sign up via this page.
With this activity, FCAYC wants to contribute to disseminate the values of minimising the ecological and social footprint that are the basis of its policies and programmes and that have been taken into account since the beginning of the works of its facilities, designed by the studio Alejandro Zaera Polo & Maider Llaguno.
