The aim of the workshop is to provide some basic notions of engraving and printing systems. The aim is to introduce participants to this technique through practical classes, which will in turn be supported by theoretical content, on the concept of printmaking, direct and indirect intaglio techniques, their characteristics and possibilities and the inking of the matrices up to the final print.
The workshop will be hands-on with acetate, wood and copper plates.

Embossing systems: embossing, intaglio and permeographic.
Basic principles of the printmaking workshop: organisation and materials.
Direct intaglio engraving techniques: Drypoint and woodcut, characteristics and graphic resources.
Inking and printing systems. Printing paper: characteristics and uses.
The printing press and the final print: numbering and plate run.
