Adrian Mokanu, composition

 

The saxophone quartet Lítore Quartet and the composer Adrian Mokanu are part of the second edition of the JME-FCAYC Residency Programme, the result of the collaboration between Juventudes Musicales de España and the Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia. The five musicians will work together for a week of artistic residence at the Foundation and will premiere in this concert a work by Adrian Mokanu written expressly within the framework of the collaboration. The concert programme will be completed with works by Maurice Ravel, Jesús Torres and David Maslanka.

Lítore Quartet was born in 2019 at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears and has received the first prize in the Chamber Music Competition “Ciudad de Ávila” (2021). Adrian Mokanu (Kiev, 1989) is a composer and has received the second prize in the XXXIII edition of the Premio Jóvenes Compositores Fundación SGAE-CNDM in Madrid.
