“LiterariaMENTE: literary approaches to mental health”.” is a programme that promotes social awareness of mental health through conversations between writers and psychiatrists. It is a crossroads of perspectives that complement each other: artistic disciplines such as literature, as a source that generates narratives and new meanings, and the health and social discipline of mental health, with its scientific and social vision.
The aim of these meetings is to vindicate the therapeutic capacity of the arts and literature in particular, since books are a source of comfort and accompaniment throughout life and are capable of confronting our fears and questioning our existential doubts. Reflections between a writer and a professional can bring us closer to a deeper understanding of mental health problems and shed light on the current distress.
