THE ANIMAL. Rogante, Lucero and Bonita (Families 5-8 years old)

Past event
29 Jul 2024
11:30 a 13:30
FCAYC

Rogante, Lucero and Bonita are some of the oxen and a cow that live together. every day at the foundation with their team and with the people who come to see them.  Their life is very quiet, away from working in the fields and pulling loaded wagons, as they used to be seen in these valleys. The relationship that was then had with these  animals was close and daily, the mountain dun was always linked to the life of the our villages and lived in close proximity to humans, almost sharing a house, for the stable was usually not far from home.

At FCAYC, Maxi and Alberto take care of the animals every day, when they are in the stable, in winter, they feed them, and in summer, they change the pasture so that they have enough water and pasture. What they like most is to be brushed and to eat some treats on special occasions. During this workshop, you will be able to get to know these extraordinary human companions much better.

This activity is an extension of the exhibition «The Animal in Spain, 1920-1964”. As part of the activity, some of the works and documents in the exhibition will be visited to understand the importance of education in our relationship with these extraordinary beings.
