Mycological Mondays 2013

After the initiative, last autumn, of the «Mycological Mondays» cycle, with the collaboration of the Green Office of the University of León, a new edition is now opening, which will also provide information on the mycology of the spring season.

For this purpose, two field trips are proposed in Spring to recognise and, if necessary, collect different types of mushrooms, typical of this season, and several theoretical sessions in October and November.

Spring:

Departure from the Foundation's headquarters.

During this conference we will talk about the best way to face a field day aimed at collecting mushrooms for their study.

1st session:
Sunday, 5 May 2013
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

2nd session:
Saturday, 1 June 2013
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Autumn:

Theoretical sessions. From 18.30 to 20.30 h.
At the Foundation's headquarters.

1st session: Monday, 14 October.
Introduction to the knowledge of fungi.

2nd session: Monday, 21 October.
Macroscopic and microscopic study of fungi. Identification I.

3rd session: Monday, 28 October.
Macroscopic and microscopic study of fungi. Identification II.

4th session: Monday, 4 November.
Macroscopic and microscopic study of fungi. Identification III. Inoculation of poplar trunks with Pleurotus ostreatus.

5th session: Monday, 11 November.
Macroscopic and microscopic study of fungi. Identification IV. Development of ectomycorrhizal spore inoculum.

Outing to the countryside. Mushroom picking.
