Fresh air: Learning outdoors

18 June, 2022

June 18

11:00 to 13:00

Where does learning about life begin and how does it happen in the villages? Both the more informal generational transfers and the formal learning that takes place in village schools will be the axes on which to begin the dialogue in this meeting.

The schools in our territory have a long heritage of outdoor education. Examples such as the Soto de Sajambre School or the schools promoted by the Sierra Pambley Foundation laid the foundations for pioneering practices where human relations with the environment were considered essential.

This filandón will start with a visit to the materials in the exhibition as well as a small set of family slides. We invite others who have archives and documentation of these learning processes to bring and share their domestic archives to trigger our conversations.

Fresh air: Learning outdoors is one of the activations proposed within the exhibition What Can Be Seen From Here where the experience of the landscape, the trades and the free experimentation of the human being are the backbone of this exhibition-workshop created by Antonio Ballester Moreno, Pablo Diez Secondary School and the FCAYC team.
