In these two sessions, we will dialogue in its habitat with Sideritis in bloom and the possibility of encounters between humans and plants, through operations of art and botany.
We set out to discuss a conflict: the loss of habitability for some high mountain plant species. Primula was the very first, and to achieve this: we got to know each other while drawing each other's faces and any chosen plant; we told each other our chosen names; we climbed the Curavacas to be with the Primula, or to come down and talk about it, and likewise, a few lies have slipped in.
The second is Sideritis, mountain tea. Sideritis from sideros, meaning “heated iron,” because it was used to heal war wounds.
During this July session, we will visit this species in its habitat and engage with it using both performative and analytical tools, in the shared space between live arts, performance, ecology, and botany.
