Run by Sonia Navarro.
In her work, Sonia Navarro uses materials (threads, needles and fabrics) that are linked to women duties such as sewing. Her last works share a process in which the city and freedom are very present through different media such as sculpture and installation, photography or drawing.
Sonia creates art works that challenge and confront the mechanisms of power and its institutions, especially those who have contributed to the historical hierarchy of genres. She also works in relation to the feminine in rural areas and thinks about the constant struggle of women and established patterns.
During this series of workshops, we’ll learn the working methods of this artist and delve into the relationship between art and society, through sewing.
