Summer Sky ’18: Perseids

9 August, 2018

22 pm.

Suitable for all audiences. No registration required

We will learn to distinguish stars, planets, artificial satellites or airplanes in the sky; we will point with a laser the various constellations and we will know its mythological origin. If we are lucky we will see some shooting stars (perseids). If you have a telescope and want to learn how to use it, join the workshop on the 8th.

Run by José Vicente Casado y Ana Mª Ordóñez Lanza
José Vicente Casado has been linked to Geology, Palaeontology and Astronomy since he was a child. Thus, he has recovered thousands of fossils and minerals. He has developed an inventory of every interesting site regarding its mineralogical or paleontological relevance in León. He has participated in the elaboration of contents for many science museums in Europe, U.S.A. and Japan.

Ana Mª Ordóñez Lanza is fond of the search and collection of minerals, fossils and meteorites along with José Vicente Casado for years. She discovered astronomy through him and collaborates in his divulgative projects. She uses the telescope as an instrument to observe the variety of objects in the sky.
