Provided by Estrella Alfaro. FREE REGISTRATION: Opens on 11 April via this page.
The aim of this workshop is to introduce participants to the knowledge of plant resources available in their immediate surroundings, as well as their traditional uses, extraction, collection, and correct use, always oriented towards conservation, respect for nature, sustainability, and biodiversity. This workshop is based on the principles of phytotherapy (the science that studies medicinal plants or their derivatives, with the aim of preventing, curing, or alleviating illnesses and/or ailments).
First of all, an outing will be made around the village so that participants can familiarise themselves with the medicinal species that will be used during the workshop. Additionally, guidelines for collecting medicinal plants will be explained (naturalised, uncontaminated sites, far from roads and paths, sustainability, etc.).
In this workshop, you will also learn to make your own natural products by hand, using medicinal plants. To achieve this, various medicinal preparations and extractions will be made (infusions, ointments, balms, etc.).
