It is enough to feel the immeasurable cold that sweeps through this valley during the winter months to see that, in its excess, the icy air can be nothing but cold, offering no shelter nor revealing any other material quality in it, such as snow, until it warms up.
Excess is a quality of our present, an intemperate and hurried course trapped in a condition that seems invariable and where life merges into adversity, inclement. However, Elena Alonso confronts this conviction through a project where material and plastic processes are honed to the maximum and feed a space for reflection, without fear of losing the canon that, on the other hand, constitutes what is “well-tempered”, what follows the marked pattern.
Template It’s a change of temperature intended for this moment, with the aim that in that change life, rest, what is different or what your body offers as shelter, can find its place: what is barely perceptible –a sound, some eyes, matter, a turn– although it doesn’t stop calling us every instant.
