Aproximación a los cambios climáticos prehistóricos en la Cordillera Cantábrica y su impacto en ecosistemas, fauna y ocupación humana, explicados en una charla abierta.

The south of the Cantabrian Mountains has not always been the climatic boundary separating the Atlantic and Mediterranean worlds. In prehistoric times, glacial phases alternated with interglacial periods, bringing about the appearance and disappearance of perpetual snows in our mountains and the advance and retreat of tundras and steppes. With changes in vegetation, fauna from cold climates and more temperate climates succeeded each other in the environment, leading humans to continuous modifications of their areas of occupation and their interaction with the environment. In Frontera Cantábrica, we approach these variations in León's ecosystems through the study of the archaeo-paleontological record preserved in its caves.

During Friday afternoon, 9th December, scientific researcher in paleobiology Darío Fidalgo, along with geologist Esperanza Fernández, will discuss these issues in a space open to all interested parties.
