Contemporary culture

Cultural studies and practices are one of FCAYC's main fields of research. Through all kinds of formats - projects, publications, seminars, fieldwork and open processes without a closed definition - we address the creation of meanings, narratives and images by combining disciplines and sciences in an interdisciplinary way. We situate ourselves in contemporaneity as a starting point that allows us to observe how these images and meanings are defined; and how different temporalities overlap and intersect in these processes in a non-linear way.

Ethno-education

This refers to hybrid educational practices located in the territory. They accompany the seasons of the year and try to get closer to the events taking place in the environment and in their links between elements, subjects and lives. They are nourished by the knowledge and memory of the neighbourhoods, contextualised in the present and projected into future scenarios.

Sound and listening

Listening is part of a way of being in the world. Understanding this action as fundamental in the relations that are generated in the territory entails paying attention to sound in all its forms. Records that pass through music in different variants, contemporary creative practices in dialogue with the territory or expanded listening.
