FULL GROUP. FULL WAITING LIST.

An approach to the production of ceramic pastes and colloidal engobes, with clays from the surrounding area. Thus recovering the uses of forgotten barriers and places where clay was extracted for adobe bricks.

For four days we will observe the whole process from the extraction and purification of the clay, to its use for modelling pieces and decorating them using ancestral techniques, such as burnishing or sgraffito.

One of the objectives of this workshop is to take advantage of the natural resources of the surrounding area and thus recover a forgotten activity. To be able to create links between the rural environment and the creative process, thus focusing on the relationship between nature, creation and the rural world.

We will carry out tests with decanted engobes such as terras sigillatas to see the possibilities offered by the same clay, both for the manufacture of a ceramic object and for its decoration.

The aim of this course is to highlight the artistic aspect of a material used to a large extent for construction in rural areas. To use clay as a source of creation, being a symbolic material capable of adapting and transforming itself into different forms.
