Open and free activity to enjoy stargazing with the specialist in Astronomy, José Vicente Casado.
It consists of two parts, with free admission and suitable for all audiences:
1. PLANETARY (we will divide into 2 sessions of 30 seats to enjoy the experience comfortably. There are no more places left
- First session: 17 to 17:45 h.
- Second session: 18:00 to 18:45 h. (No places left in the second group)
Using an inflatable hemisphere 6 metres in diameter, we project the stars and planets inside it and simulate their movements throughout the days and the year. We will also be able to contemplate the stars from different latitudes of the Earth, from the North Pole to the South Pole. We will be able to see the imaginary drawings that make up the constellations and we will explain some generalities about Astronomy applied to all age groups. This is not a film that is projected inside, it is a direct explanation, in person and open to multiple questions from the public. In addition, we will use a tellurium to give a clear and simple explanation of the lunar phases.
2. OBSERVATION OF THE SKY
19 h.
We will be able to observe the planet Mercury very close to the western horizon at sunset and all the stars and constellations in the winter sky will be very different from those we can observe in summer. If the sky is clear the spectacularity is assured as it will be a moonless night and the winter sky is particularly dark compared to the summer sky. We will also be able to observe artificial satellites.
The observation of the sky will take place outside. If the weather conditions do not allow a correct visibility of the sky, we will hold a talk on the winter sky inside the Foundation.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. It is advisable to bring a chair or mat and blankets.
