Instrumental evocations between Spain and Italy (16th-18th c.)

It could be said that music is synonymous with evocation, with resurgence, with awakening a dormant art among manuscripts and editions that patiently awaits the interpreter. Music is instantaneity, immediacy, it springs up and vanishes, unlike, for example, pictorial or sculptural art (but not gastronomic art), and this means that the sound, assembled, becomes in the present a succession of experiences, descriptions and emotions of a way of feeling, thinking and seeing the world to which that music was witness, but which in turn are transformed into art of our days and, therefore, attached to our reality. Music is, at the same time, a heritage, both material and immaterial, the fruit of the theorisations and artistic-aesthetic conceptualisations of a given period, which give it unique particularities, in constant reinvention and adaptations. For this reason, the present programme traces a journey through repertoires that are more similar than dissimilar to each other in Spain and Italy, where, in musical terms, so many similarities converged in terms of production and compositional content. From the first specifically instrumental editions of the mid-sixteenth century to the sonatas of marked operatic influence of the first third of the eighteenth century, passing through the canzoni The experimental works of the early Baroque, and the profuse elaboration of diminutions during the Renaissance.

The Camerata Patrimonio Sonoro is a musical project created by the brothers Carlos and Miguel Bonal Asensio and artistically managed by the Asociación Patrimonio Sonoro. One of its main objectives is the interpretation based on a rigorous knowledge of the sources and treatises of the period in order to construct a sound discourse that is argued, creative, focused and detailed, in which there is always room for ornamentation and improvisation.
