Artist Abel Jaramillo presents his research on the "listeners" of fire.

The project No Night in Flames [Three Visions Reflected], deals with the surveillance of fields and forest fires through the figure of the "listener", in which different agents dedicate a good part of their time to observing the horizon in order to be alert to a possible fire or the sound coming from one of the 18 watchtowers that still remain in the province. The research, carried out over nine months, is an audiovisual essay that mixes times and stories about fire through the landscape and the eyes of this profession.

In the presentation, the artist will show the process carried out in the province of León, visiting several of the booths, talking and getting to know the work done by the listeners and the collaboration in the sound proposal of Menhir and Pilar Serrano through a series of diverse materials that cross the moving image, sound, text and sculpture.

Ninguna noche en llamas [Tres visiones reflejadas], by Abel Jaramillo, is the winning project of the third call (2023) NUDO/KNOT jointly promoted by the Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia and the Instituto Leonés de Cultura de la Diputación Provincial de León.
