Counting routines. Ana Amorim

The exhibition project Tell routines is made up of a selection of facilities Mind Maps, Calls  Large Screens by the artist, and time tracking records, Counting Seconds Performances, created by the Brazilian artist Ana Amorim (São Paulo, 1956), from the 1980s to the present day.

Given that the artist adheres to rigorous daily conceptual and performative routines, her output has acquired monumental dimensions. What is collected here is a selection of 23 works of varying sizes, media, and formats, showcasing her consistent artistic practice over the last four decades.

Essentially, the exhibition is based on two main activities from Ana Amorim's life's work: daily recording routines of Mind Maps, drawn or embroidered, and their conceptual performances of Seconds Counter. These practices explain the commitment with which the artist applies herself to the recording of her life and also to the narration of the reality that surrounds her, with which, far from any aestheticism, her trajectory is profoundly and dramatically implicated in its recurrences.
