TROPOS
TROPOS is synonymous with music that is difficult to classify. In medieval music, a tropo is adding music or text to an existing piece. It means adapting existing structures to expand the forms through improvisation. With a broad spectrum, TROPOS makes room for artists who can sound from an expanded vision of jazz, folk, rock, contemporary music or electronic music, but without having to identify with any of these labels. We understand the proposals of TROPOS as ways of being and being here and now, ways of sounding profoundly current and diverse that temporarily enter into dialogue with the territory.
TROPOS seeks to generate a space based on the idea of weather. The troposphere is the layer of the atmosphere where meteorological phenomena occur. In other words, it is a space where the indispensable changes for life occur. Fleeing from the logic that often surrounds festivals, TROPOS aspires to redefine the festive from an idea of accessibility: a place to meet at sunset. No big stages, no structures or complex devices. Only what is necessary to generate a listening atmosphere. TROPOS takes place in outdoor venues close to FCAYC, from the Foundation's outdoor stage to the town square.
