“seed-earth. Sideritis: go to bush tea”.” is an ethno-educational proposal that is committed to the recovery of traditional knowledge and community dialogue through knowledge of the natural environment. Guided by the researchers Estrella Alfaro and Ana Paula Melero, This meeting is part of a series of activities linked to different cycles of the FCAYC such as Herbarium, Labranzas or Comensales.
A journey through territory and memory
Scheduled to depart on 29 August 2025 at 09:00 h, adults over 16 years of age are invited to participate in a meeting around the Sideritis lurida (also known as Sideritis borgiae), and popularly known as “mountain tea”. The meeting point will be the local places “La Cuesta” and “El Membrillar”, places full of identity and toponymic memory, proposed by the same neighbours of the Condado area.
The dynamics of the meeting will be marked by a collaborative search of the species, walking through the landscape while sharing knowledge about traditional harvesting, medicinal uses and stories related to this plant, which is representative of the biocultural heritage of the region.
They will guide the experience Estrella Alfaro Saiz -teaching researcher-, y Ana Paula Melero Castellot, -researcher and photographer, who on this occasion will be facilitators linked to local knowledge and ethno-education together with the FCAYC Education team.
