Bachelor and Doctor of Biological Sciences from the University of León. Currently Professor of Botany of the Department of Biodiversity and Management of the ULE, practicing for four years as Director of the Area of Environmental Quality and Healthy University of the ULE, whose framework is part of the Green Office. His research work in the last twenty-five years has focused on the study of fungi as a part of the biodiversity of forest ecosystems in the use of lichens as bioindicator agents of environmental quality. He has published five books on mycology, in addition to multiple scientific papers in international journals and directed several doctoral theses.
