Clara Levy, is a french violinist, based in Brussels since 2011.
Mostly active in the field of contemporary/experimental music, she holds the violin position within french ensemble Hanatsu Miroir and regularly collaborates with other european ensembles such as Ictus, Contemporary Insights, Ensemble 21, Ensemble Hopper, as well as the following composers : Fritz Hauser, Erika Vega, Jürg Frey, Michael Grebil-Liber, Kaija Saariaho, Michael Beil, Klaus Lang, Szymon Brzoska, Karl Naegelen…
Fond of contemporary dance and performance, she got the occasion to play on stage with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and work with choreographer, theater makers such as Vera Tussing and Jan Rohwedder.
She is now touring within Europe with her latest solo project « 13 visions », a fictional encounter between Pauline Oliveros and Hildegard Von Bingen. It will be released in 2022 on the label « Discreet editions ».
She regularly plays in Belgium and worldwide (Austin – Texas, Festival Superspectives – Lyon, OzAsia Festival – Adelaide, Théâtre de la Monnaie – Bruxelles, De Bijloke – Gand, Café-Oto – Londres, Opéra de Lille, Philharmonie du Luxembourg, Festival de Bayreuth, Xornadas de Musica Contemporanea – Santiago de Compostella)…
Since 2022 she is co-curating the SMOG concert series alongside Vera Cavallin and Yann Leguay.
