Ainara LeGardon

Ainara LeGardon (Bilbao, 1976) has been an active musician and artist since 1991. She develops a prolific work in the field of rock, improvisation and experimental music, both solo and as part of different artistic collectives and stage projects.

He has presented his music and developed sound pieces and performative actions on stages in Europe and the United States, self-managing his career since 2003.

His works involve a work of reinterpretation and embodiment of his processes of listening, creation, twisting and destruction, whether in the form of music, poems and sound actions or stage interventions.

Some of his work site-specific are “Desire as cement”(Wroclaw -Poland-, 2015), “Sound ecosystems think, they learn”(the result of an artistic residency sponsored by Mugako- Festival de Música Avanzada at Artium, Centro-Museo Vasco de Arte Contemporáneo, 2018) or the more recent “The Basque Contemporary Art Centre-Museum".“Connection, modulation”(Church of San Pedro de Mera -Lugo-, for which he received the “Connexio” Award, 2020) and “Hearing with the memory”(series of 3 actions in different locations in La Rioja commissioned by Acción Cultural Española, 2022). His sound installation “Pausa pulsar” is exhibited in “That Time”commissioned by Tabakalera / Bilbao Fine Arts Museum until November 2023.

In parallel to her artistic activity, she carries out extensive work as a researcher and disseminator in the field of cultural management and intellectual property.
