Alberto Ruiz de Samaniego

PhD in Philosophy (UAM) and lecturer in Aesthetics at the University of Vigo. Critic and curator of exhibitions, for example: Andrei Tarkovski: fidelidad a una obsesión, La escultura en Fritz Lang, Cabañas para pensar, Unterwegs: al paso de Walter Benjamin or Georges Perec: Tentativa de inventario. He has curated exhibitions by Jorge Molder, Manuel Vilariño, Antón Patiño, Xesús Vázquez, Antón Lamazares, Luís Seoane, Roland Topor, Juan Carlos Meana, etc., as well as various group exhibitions. 

He has published, among others, the following books: Maurice Blanchot: una estética de lo neutro (2001), Cabañas para pensar (coord., 2011), Las horas bellas. Escritos sobre cine (2015), Leyenda de Paradjanov (coord. 2017), Alegrías de nada. Essays on Some Aesthetics of Undoing (2018), The Place Was the Desert. On Pier Paolo Pasolini (2019), The Naked City. He is co-director of the film Pessoa / Lisboa. 

Curator of the Spanish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (2007). Awarded the Espais Prize for art criticism (1997) and the Rafael Pérez Estrada Foundation Aphorisms Prize (2022). He has directed the Luís Seoane Foundation.
