Celia Santos Tapia

(León, 1991)
Graduate in Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and master's degree in Cell Biology and Genetics from the same university. She is currently doing a PhD at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine in Barcelona (IRB) where she models tumour processes using the wing of the Drosophila Melanogaster fly. She has participated in several science outreach programmes such as Crazy about biomedicine at IRB, Recerca en Societat at the Science Park, and the Barcelona International Youth Science Challenge at Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera. In 2017, together with two colleagues, she founded the group Noies al lab! which aims to encourage girls' vocations in science and technology and to raise the profile of women in science.
