Like researcher, Her aim is to deepen the knowledge of Devonian reef environments, especially in the palaeobiology of tabulate corals, the palaeoecology of reefs and the response of these bioconstructions to different geological events. In this context, she is the author of more than 50 scientific articles, most of them published in international journals. She is a member of the board of directors of the Spanish Society of Palaeontology.

As a teacher, she investigates aspects related to the didactics of earth sciences, She has published a dozen articles on this subject in specialised journals. She is deputy editor of the journal Enseñanza de las Ciencias de la Tierra and a member of the Spanish Association for the Teaching of Earth Sciences.

Some noteworthy dissemination publications in the context of this activity are:

  • Visual geological guide to León (coordinated by Eduardo Alonso)
  • Guide to the geological heritage of the Alto Bernesga Biosphere Reserve
  • Geotourism in the city of Burgos. A guide to urban geology for everyone.
