Coral Heriberto Ampudia

The Heriberto Ampudia Choir was founded at the end of 1987 in the parish of La Anunciación. It was soon nourished by voices enthusiastic about singing and today it is made up of around 50 mixed voices of all ages.

The consolidation and musical advances have been possible thanks to the work, continuous effort and experience acquired through the numerous concerts given in our region and abroad, collaborating with the Junta de Castilla y León, Diputación Provincial de León, Caja España, Caja Madrid, C.E.A.S. and other official and private organisms. It is currently sponsored by the Town Council of San Andrés del Rabanedo.

It has participated in the VII, VIII and IX Choral Festival of Castilla y León; in the "Villa de Fuensalida" Polyphony Meeting in Toledo; as a guest at the High Mass in the Monastery of Silos; in the I Muestra de Coros Infantiles in the Cathedral of León; I and IV Concurso de Canto Coral organised by the Town Council of San Andrés del Rabanedo and various choral competitions and exhibitions.

During Holy Week 2006 it inaugurated the cycle <>, where it offered a concert with the responsories, motets and the Passion according to St. John from the "Officium Hebdomadae Sanctae" by Tomás Luis de Victoria. In 2007 he participated in the 2nd cycle.
