Maria Buey

María holds a degree in architecture from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid. Her work revolves around the implications that artificiality, computational technologies and model-based design processes trigger in the built environment and in the relational sphere. To this end, his practice is based on interdisciplinary collaborations that combine research with other projects of practical exploration. He often works in alliance with related institutions or platforms such as CA2M, Instituto de Estudios Postnaturales, IEDMadrid Innovation Lab, La Casa Encendida or Matadero Madrid. He was a member of the PAPER Architectural Histamine platform and is one third of bwelke.

The Terraforming programme has recently concluded at the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design in Moscow, a platform that continues the development of the Peak Face project, which proposes the definition of a facial phase of the terraforming process and speculates on the possible transformations of the role of the face in the future of the planet.
