After graduating from the School of Architecture of the University of A Coruña (ETSAC) in
2008 (including an Erasmus scholarship, IUAV, University of Venice, Italy in 2005-06), studied a
Master in Biodigital Architecture, ESARQ, UIC, Barcelona in 2009, developing the final dissertation:
“Emergent biodigital architecture.
In 2017, he/she/they presented their doctoral thesis “Living architectural envelopes that interact with their
”Environment. Naturalising Design", in the Department of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering,
University of Oviedo, achieving Cum Laude and International Mention from the University
University College London (UCL), London.
Between 2013 and 2020, she was part of the University of Oviedo, as a researcher in the
GICONSIME group and as manager in the MediaLab Chair, developing various projects in
investigation of the application of biomimicry to architecture and engineering through new
digital manufacturing technologies.
She currently combines her work as an architect and spatial branding designer at
Volumínica Studio, founded in 2017, with the direction of the Biomimetic Laboratory in the
Redes Natural Park, both initiatives alongside designer Manuel Persa.
Over fourteen years of experience, in both the private and public sectors, they have developed projects
architectural and hybrid, multidisciplinary research projects, bringing together
numerous publications, presentations, and lectures at international conferences. With a wide
experience and vocation as a teacher, in recent years he/she has created different programmes
educational and an innovative learning methodology centred around bio-inspired design. Also
she has been invited as a reviewer of scientific articles and as a judge at various events, and her work
has been part of different exhibitions, has received awards and has appeared in numerous
media.
