Miguel Bonal

Born in Zaragoza in 1999. At the age of 7 he entered the Professional Conservatory of Music in Zaragoza to begin studying viola da gamba with Fernando Marín. His growing interest in this instrument led him to deepen his studies with Wieland Kuijken and Noelia Reverte. In 2017, she began her advanced studies of viola da gamba and baroque cello at the ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya) with Emmanuel Balsa. He is currently studying for a Master's degree in viola da gamba at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, with Mieneke van der Velden. At the same time, he is assistant director of the Muribalta Music Festival.

He has won prizes in several important classical music competitions. He received the First Prize at the 98th edition of the Juventudes Musicales España Competition, in the early music category. Also, the Prize of the Festival de Música Antigua de Úbeda y Baeza, and the EMCY (European Union of Music Competitions for Youth) Prize Certificate. In September 2021, he was awarded in the First Palau, held at the Palau de la Música Catalana. He won Second Prize, the Catalunya Música Prize and the Critics' Prize.
