Raquel G. Ibáñez (Madrid, 1989) holds a degree in Fine Arts from the UCM. Artist and curator, her line of work is linked to the study of thresholds - genealogies, symbologies and fictions that are detached from the said borderline experiences - as well as sound from hypertextuality and the confrontation between acoustic experiences and visual image.
He has developed projects for different institutions and spaces such as CA2M, MNCARS, Azkuna Zentroa, Matadero Madrid, La Casa Encendida, MACBA, TEA Tenerife, Hangar, hablarenarte, MIAC Lanzarote, Can Felipa, CentroCentro, Tsonami Arte Sonoro, CCESantiago, GAM - Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral or Supermarket Art Fair Stockholm, among others.
Collectively, she has been part of El Banquete and the electronic music platform Possible Others. She is currently a member of Una fiesta Salvaje, a research group on performative writing resident at CRA Matadero Madrid between 2020 and 2023.
He has texts in publications by the Fundación Pedro Cabrera, Ediciones Asimétricas, Fundación Montemadrid, Tabacalera Promoción del Arte and the Sabrina Amrani gallery, among others. In 2023 he published the book Garnetpublished by Solar Acción Cultural.
He has been awarded various grants and prizes such as the Injuve Young Creation Grants 2017 and 2020, Community of Madrid Creation Grants 2019, Getxoarte scenic 2019, Inéditos 2020, Circuitos Artes Plásticas 2021, Premi Miquel Casablancas 2021, Artists in Residence LCE / MACBA 2021 and the Madrid City Council's Aid for Creation and Mobility 2022/2023.
