Sky Bird Puppet Group

Sky Bird Puppet Group was founded by Yeung Ching-yee in 1979. Its current director and main puppeteer is Cheung Chun-fai, who has a long artistic career since 1997. The company develops its work around the four main techniques of traditional Chinese puppet animation: string, glove, rod and shadow puppetry. With the aim of preserving and developing the art of puppetry, Sky Bird Puppet Group not only creates traditional puppet shows with the specific characteristics of Hong Kong (puppets with strings of about 2.5 meters), but also trains local artists and participates in school campaigns.
