Raúl Sabiote and Pilar Miralles are the stars of the third edition of the JME-FCAYC Residency Programme.

The project reaffirms the commitment of Juventudes Musicales de España and the Cerezales Foundation to contemporary creation and the promotion of young musical talent.

The closing concert of the residency will be held on Saturday 15 February. Access is by invitation only, easily available on the Monday before the event at fcayc.org.

The third edition of the JME-FCAYC Residency Programme, fruit of the collaboration between Juventudes Musicales de España (JME) and the Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia (FCAYC), will feature the participation of the euphonium player Raúl Sabiote and the composer Pilar Miralles. During a week of joint work at the Foundation, both musicians will develop an intense creative process that will conclude with the premiere of an unpublished work by Miralles, created expressly for this collaboration.

The concert, which will mark the closing of the residency, will offer audiences the chance to hear this new composition for the first time. In addition, the programme will include works by renowned composers such as Szentpali, Stevens, Falcone, Scott and Bryant, offering a diverse and enriching musical experience.

Raúl Sabiote (Almería, 1998) is an euphonium player based in Switzerland, where he has developed an outstanding career as a performer, conductor and teacher. His talent has been recognised with the first prize in the 107th edition of the Concurso de Juventudes Musicales de España in the Wind-Metal category.

Pilar Miralles (Almería, 1997) is a composer and sound artist. She has been awarded first prize in the XXXIV edition of the Premio Jóvenes Compositores Fundación SGAE-CNDM, a distinction that has earned her the prestigious appointment as Composer-in-Residence of the Red de Músicas de Juventudes Musicales de España.

About the JME-FCAYC residency programme

The JME-FCAYC Residency Programme was born from the collaboration between Juventudes Musicales de España and the Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia, with the aim of promoting joint work between composers and performers. During the residency at FCAYC, both collaborate in the creation of a new work, which is premiered at the FCAYC Auditorium and then incorporated into the repertoire of the performers in their concerts within the Juventudes Musicales Music Network.

This programme reaffirms the commitment to contemporary creation around sound and seeks to foster encounters between young creators. It also strengthens ties with related institutions, as the participating composer is the winner of the SGAE-CNDM Foundation Award for Young Composers and the JM España Special Award. For their part, the performers are selected from among the members of the Music Network of Juventudes Musicales each season.
