Sharing of the “Modelling the Air” project of the NUDO/KNOT residency.

Antonio Giráldez López and Pablo Ibáñez Ferrera, members of the Bartlebooth collective, will present the results of “Modelar el aire”, the winning project of the second edition of the NUDO/KNOT creation residency organised by the Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia (FCAYC) together with the Instituto Leonés de Cultura (ILC), on 22 June at 18:00. The activity requires previous registration, which can be obtained through www.fcayc.org

“Modelling the air” is the project developed by the Bartlebooth platform, which proposes the need to rethink the relationship between the sovereignty of the air, the resources extracted from it and its visibility. This is a field research on the territorial richness of the Central Mountains of León, a territory of extraordinary diversity and at the same time threatened by the expansion of wind energy.

Antonio Giraldez and Pablo Ibañez have approached this territory for eight months through formal and informal conversations, fieldwork and archival material of different kinds, to create a heterogeneous register of agents involved in the ecosystem around this problem. His proposal aims to enable us to reconstruct or imagine a more desirable future for this territory, starting from the current situation of energy transition.

At the end of the research residency, a day of sharing is proposed to bring together the different voices encountered throughout the residency: plant species, animals, infrastructures, energy companies and activists, among many other agents. Based on conversations, discussions, projects and their repercussions, we will try to understand some of the edges of this complex problem.

The dynamic, in the form of a role-play, requires the active participation of the participants through actions and spoken interventions. No prior knowledge of the subject is required.

About NUDO / KNOT

NUDO/KNOT is a research and creation residency that seeks to hybridise all kinds of knowledge. Access to the residency is through a public call for applications. Each year a theme is proposed by FCAYC to those who wish to apply. The NUDO/KNOT jury is made up of representatives of the FCAYC and ILC teams, and is responsible for selecting the project to be awarded the residency from among the projects submitted. The call was launched in 2021 to support creative and research projects linked to the territory. The winner of the first call was the artist Sara García, with her project “Fuegos de alto grado”.
