TROPOS 2025 brings together live music, contemporary circus and puppetry at the FCAYC.

Cerezales del Condado, 26 July 2025 - The Cerezales Antonino y Cinia Foundation (FCAYC) celebrates in August a new edition of the TROPOS, its cycle dedicated to contemporary performing and sound arts, within the framework of the programme Summer Station 2025. TROPOS brings together six scenic and musical proposals that explore the relationships between body, word, sound and image in dialogue with the rural environment.

The programme will open on 1 August with the work “Excuse me if I introduce you as if I don't know you.”, a co-production of circus and dance that won the Talía 2024 Award. Through a joint body work, the piece poses a reflection on identity and the relationship with others. It will be performed outdoors in the recreational area La Viesca, in Vegas del Condado.

The 2 August, the outdoor stage of the FCAYC will host the concert by Laura Sam and Derek V. Bulcke, which combines spoken voice, poetry and electronics. The proposal is based on spoken text and experimental music to generate a joint sound and stage experience.

The cycle continues on 9 August with the Galician trio Sumrrá, commemorating their 25 years of career with a concert based on a selection of pieces from their various albums. The group is formed by Manuel Gutiérrez (piano), Xacobe Martínez Antelo (double bass) and Lar Legido (drums).

The 16 August, will act Caravel, The band works from contemporary Galician music with elements of pop, electronic and oral tradition. They will present live tracks from their EPs No y A noite.

The 22 August, the play will be presented “NIL”, a visual theatre piece that combines string puppets, mechanical objects, sound and live manipulation to construct a metaphor for internal conflict.

The cycle will close on 23 August with the concert “SO”, a collaboration between The Sara Fontan y Amorante. The project is based on improvisation with acoustic and electronic instruments, incorporating elements of traditional music, loops, violin and rhythmic layers.

All the activities of TROPOS 2025 are aimed at different audiences and are free and open access. They will take place in open spaces of the FCAYC and in nearby enclaves, favouring a direct relationship between the artistic proposals and the territory.
